She stood upon this pedestal,
The essences of one man's dream.
Watching him pass among the crowd,
Her looks extraordinary, a rare extreme.

This dark raven Angel of beauty,
Unlike any that went before her.
Wings spread regal, molded for flight,
Yet she was shy and demure.

Sometimes she caught him gazing,
Upward, an attempt to transfer.
The dark Angel into a mortal,
Through his eyes he could conver.

How was she to reach him,
Down to the streets far below.
Was she really a statue of stone,
Or could life through her flow.

There was only but one way,
To release her of this bond.
Shed her wings there on the plateau,
Falling to the earth there beyond.

No fleeting thoughts she gave,
As they fell away one at a time.
All else held no importance,
Just this man sublime.

Once the descent had begun,
It was only the means to an ending.
No turning back or retracing,
The inevitable impending.

Her embrace held no warmth,
He gathered there at her side.
Placing her body against his heart,
As she lay still in his arms, he cried.

He saw the skies shadow turn to night,
Thunder roared out to him it seem.
The fallen raven Angel of beauty,
One man's dream.
