Dream's End

I pray to the Great Spirit
As the moon rose above the water.
To the Great Spirit I cried
For a vision to be my guide.

Before the dawn and out of the morning mist
A vision of the Spirit Horse did appear
The proud, fierce warrior upon his back
His face hidden from view.

O Great Spirit, Father of my Heart!
Take from me this vision of fear.
Let me ride into battle
With courage at my side.

Before the enemy I rode,
Taunting them to count coup,
From me bravery was understood.

Out of the sun the lance flew,
And down the lance my life ran.
As I watched the ground turn red
I heard on eagle scream my name!

On the eagle's wing I rose to the sky
And before me I saw the warrior's face
Then I knew the vision's truth,
That for me no more would the War Drums beat

For I ride the Spirit Horse this DAY!!!
