This preservation microfilming project has been undertaken to preserve historically significant records of the Horton Agency of the Bureau of Indian Affairs. The agency, located in Horton, Kansas, administers the Kickapoo, Potawatomi, Iowa, and Sac & Fox reservations in Kansas. The project is a joint effort of the Kansas City Federal Records Center and the National Archives-Central Plains Region, of the National Archives and Records Administration.

The records upon accession by the National Archives will be assigned to Record Group 75, Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

Please note that several items were located and inserted in the filming sequence after the initial table of contents was compiled and filmed. A target noting that the item does not appear on the table of contents precedes each of these items. Subsequently, a new table of contents, including the inserted items, was compiled and filmed to replace the original table of contents.
