The webpages have been set up as in the book and each webpage corresponds to a book page. Unfortunately the pages are not in alaphebatical order. To find someone you are looking for see the index below to locate the page number. The footnote pages give additional information that the author had found out about that person in his research for other books. Mr. Houck has also placed in brackets the Americanized name of the person if it was known to him.
If you do not find the person you are looking for please check the full index due to the Spanish spelling of the name may not correspond with the name that you have for the person. Example: Patrick Cojido is the Spanish for Patrick Casidy. It has also been observed that even the author was not sure of the spelling of many of the names. I have found spelling differences from the census to the footnotes to the author's other book "History of Missouri" for the same person. I have left the spelling variations used by the author in the hopes that it will help someone locate their ancestors whose names might not be spelled correctly.
